SITE: Certified for Dynamics NAV 2009

 

Effective 16 February 2009, our SITE solution (Solution for IT Enterprises) has officially migrated to the newest version of Dynamics NAV 2009. As with all past versions, we were required to submit the software for testing and respond to many issues. We are especially proud that once again we are one of the first Microsoft Dynamics Partners to clear this important hurdle.

Functionally, the new version is based on the familiar Version 5.0 including SP1—for our customers, on SITE Version 6.7. It can also be used like the NAV and SITE we’ve known for years—this is now referred to as Classic Client. But the real advance in this version of NAV 2009 is the much-advertised role-based client built on a completely new NAV service layer. Both clients can even be run in parallel in a single installation. Users who are accustomed to the old client can go on using it; users who like the new client can use it.

Another advantage of the new version is the integration of Web services into NAV: other applications can communicate with NAV via Web services. Thus, those who want to integrate NAV into complex environments now have a more future-proof method at their disposal.
